What are the requirements for joining the military?

Can anybody tell me the requirements for joining the military?My knowledge on the military is limited, I was interested in joining the airforce. Talk to a recruiter in your area, they will help set you up to go to MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) where you will take a physical, urine test, blood test, pregnancy test (females) to determine if you are physically suited for the military and you will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test to make sure you meet the educational standards to join. check out this site: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlstandards.htm

after doing a little research your next move should be to sit down with a recruiter and talk about service options, job options, BMT (Basic Military Training) and any other questions you might have

It is a timed test that covers several catagories. You will go to MEPS for a COMPLETE physical. You will be required to complete something like 30 pages of info about yourself including copies of all of your medical records. Talk to people you know and find a GOOD recruiter and check with the recruiter.

Those things are expensive. I would think some form of mental test would be required. At many millions of dollars a pop you can't expect them to receive just anybody with open arms, that would be like throwing the keys to a Maserati into the hands of an infant. Well I just met a recruiter of the army, they are both in the same area. Requirements are that you're 18 or older. Have a high school diploma. Now the after you have a sit and talk with the recruiter they will give you a test. I believe they will give you a practice test before taking the real one. I was going to take the test but I backed out. Also body examination and that's it. If you use illegal or abusing the use of drugs they won't take you.
Finish High School if that is possible.
