Do you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?

Theis week in Australia an Iraqi family shot by Australian soldiers has taken the government to court. I think this is great. It is about time the military was held accountable for its horrific violence. What do you think?Do you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?i guess it depends, if it was a blatant attack against the family, sure, but if the family is a bystandard it happensDo you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?
RidiculousDo you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?I hope you die a horrible death you dumb ***. Go and cut your throat. What are you going to do when they sue you for not being a Muslim. LOSER!!
People, people--don't feed the trolls. It only encourages them to keep coming out from under their bridges to annoy actual humans.Do you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?I think that there are military and civilians casualties and deaths in all wars. What makes this one different to where they can sue for wrongful death?Do you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?
Boy, you really struck a nerve with this one! (And I apologize in advance for what will be my knee-jerk, strong response.)

I think that's outrageous! Have people forgotten that war is messy and sometimes civilians do get hurt? We send our young men and women to battle then want to punish them for doing their job. "The military was held accountable for its horrific violence?" What exactly do you think the military is all about? Do you think we train our soldiers to go into combat to hold hands and stage love ins? Have you ever read the Constitution and its amendments? How about the one that says, "innocent until proven guilty?" Do you really believe that the soldiers just went in and shot up an Iraqi family just for shits and giggles? If you do, then I feel sorry for you.
It's political correctness gone mad. They are just trying to get into Australia. Should i sue the Japanese government because they made my grandad build railways, or the German government because they shot my great uncle?

The facts in this case is they ran a roadblock, and the soldiers shot because they could have been suicide bombers.

I don't agree with the war, and don't think our soldiers should be in this position, but they are there like it or not, and we probably all know someone who's over there now, or has been there in the past. Australia, Britain and Poland are withdrawing troops from Iraq, leaving only the USA over there. But we are staying in Afghanistan unfortunately.

A similar case a few years ago when a couple of teenage joyriders ran a roadblock in Northern Ireland, and the soldiers shot the driver dead. The family prosecuted the army and the soldier went to jail for doing his job. If the teenage joyrides had thought 'wait a minute stealing a car and running a roadblock is wrong, let's sit in tonight and watch TV' they would still be alive today.

If that Iraqi family had stopped when asked they would not have been shot. it's that simple.Do you support civilian victims of the military taking the military to court?
Stupid case and will be thrown out. Funny though , I didnt think Australia's Military was that bad as you claim.
yep. everyone should be responsible for their actions. I hope the family wins
