They live in Maryland which the law says the age of consent is at 16, but he is not sure about he military law. What are the possible troubles that he may get into? I could be wrong (usually am) but I think the "age of consent for military personnel" applies to the soldier or sailor or marine, not to the one they're shacking up with. Local law defines age of consent for the other person, I think. Anyway, "age of consent" applies to sex, marriage, contracts, etc., not to simple dating. It's not illegal just to hold hands with a 16 year old, except in Islamic countries. Where is this girl again?
State law would get him if you have sex and this would get him in big trouble with the military.



He could be tried and listed as a sexual predator and kicked out of the military if not court martialed.
I believe that military personal are not allowed to date civilians.
