Does a former military police officer make for a good cop in the civilian world?

Take for instance, he gets out of the military after serving his country in the military. Would it then be wise for him to be a police officer in the civilian world? Are former military police officers usually successful as cops in the civilian world?Does a former military police officer make for a good cop in the civilian world?Although MPs do learn and perform law enforcement duties and tactics, the military tactics are very different from civilian law enforcement tactics. For example...Kicking down doors. If you do that in the civilian world you will get desk duty. It's hard to "un-train" MPs and tone them to the levels of civilian LEOs. However, people who become MPs often do it because they have an interest in becoming cops after the service. (That's my plan)Does a former military police officer make for a good cop in the civilian world?
Mititary police are nothing like civilian police they have very little in common. But that means nothing being a good cop has more to do with the indivual person than their background.
