What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims?

Writing a speech on the military response, I just need to know what branches assisted. I am not speaking about any politics that went on just what the branches did. What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims?I'm pretty sure all branches were there to help. My hubby was part of it as well, and hes in the USMC.What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims?
The Coast Guard

And those were Army helicopters you saw. What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims? All four of the DOD Branches, Army, Navy Air Force, Marines, also the DoHS Coast Guard were involved. It showed that our military just isn't for war, but can help during extreme urgency in our own back yard.
Most of the rescue operations were performed by the Army National Guard from all the surrounding states. The Army National Guard is a branch under the US Army. They can be called up for federal orders like Afghanistan or Iraq or local disaster/emergencies like Hurricanes and Tornadoes. Although there were some marines, active duty army, and other branches. I would say more than 50% of the rescues were US Army or national Guard. What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims?I think all of the services had personnel down there. I know the available units here at Bragg were tasked to go help (Army). What branches of the military assisted with rescue operations for hurricane Katrina victims?

I am surprised only 1 person even reconozed the AF in this... It was not all army helo's either.... There was many of the AF's HH-60's. And there was C-130's that refueled these helo's as well. So, don't forget about all of them!
well FEMA turned volunteers away and Blackwater and other "security" firms went around disarming the citizenry and forcing them to leave on their designated buses. a dry run for martial law?
The National Guard and the Coast Guard initially, the Army (82nd) was called in later to help stabalize the area.
All the services participated, but the majority of the troops were from the Army and the Coast Guard.
