Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?

I am 17...I have a mom that hates me and calls me a slut and a whore and a lesbian and a ***** all the time...I have had so many bad memories of emotional abuse in this family and I want out of this town full of people who's lives are pathetic and horrible and full of mistakes....I'm thinking about joining the military as soon as I am 18 to escape and start a new life.

What do you think?Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?thats sorta like what i did.... if youre lookin to start anew, the military is a great place, youll have a great time (for the most part), meet great people, and travel to "amazing" places. plus itll be hard for anyone you never want to see again to contact you, if they dont already know how. like the other ppl said tho, do a lil research and pick a branch that best suits you. good luck!Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?
I've not had it that bad, but I have a crappy bunch of family members that try to drag me down. If the military is a way to improve your life go for it I support you 100%, but also remember it's not the only option, but pick the branch that will give to you as much as you give to it.Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?It is always better to run towards something than away from something else. Only join if you wan to be in the military. Otherwise you will want to run from that as well when things don't go well.Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?
Very similar reasons to why I left and joined at 17 (albeit it was an abusive stepfather). 22 years later I am still here and getting ready to retire.Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?Yes I think you should and you won't regret your decision. Good Luck to whatever you do.Should I join the military to escape my life and start a new one?
