Why do american media and movies always portray India negatively?

When will hollywood make a film portraying the positive side of India? Every hollywood film that has a indian theme portrays India in a negative way...I've been to India and there are MANY positive and beautiful things...For one thing the vibrant rich history along with the colorful culture...The dancing, the music and the people. Why does every hollywood movie focus on India's poverty and slums? Why don't they make a film on India's 400,000,000+ middle class population or a film on the countries growth in the 60 years since independence? India is the second fastest growing economy yet american media seems to want to make people think India is only poor, nasty and disgusting. Why is that? Why not show both sides of the country instead of being one-sided? So many Americans are surprised when I say I go clubbing and to fancy malls in India...Doesn't this negative portraying make Americans think less of India? Why do american media and movies always portray India negatively? When will hollywood make a film portraying the real-life story of gangland drug runners in America's inner cities?

*tries to remember a film where that happened*Why do american media and movies always portray India negatively? They made a Hollywood film about India? That's news to me, I will take $20 on pump 8.
