I would like to join the military and rise to high posts soon after i joined, but i am currently studying Philosophy,Politics and Economics, how does it help my military ambition and what is the best alternate course to study to join the military? What is the best course to study before joining the military?Frankly, it does not matter, just get a good education, a masters degree would be great. After you are in, what matters is how you do your job and what kind of soldier you are. Your degree path will not matter unless you are going into something that might require an Engineering degree. For the most part performance is what counts. Remember "the best Chiefs were once the best Indians". Good LuckWhat is the best course to study before joining the military?
Instead of asking what to study before joining the military, pick a branch and an MOS. Once you figure out what you'd like to do in the military, then you can find a course of study.
However, it's really not that big of a deal. Unless you're going to be a doctor (requires a medical degree) or chaplain (requires a degree in psychology), you honestly can major in whatever the hell you want and still be an officer in any field...remember, they don't just drop you in on your a**, you are trained on how to do your job. On top of this, having other experiences can benefit you. For example, if you study psychology and end up working in, say, admin, you'll be able to sympathize better with your troops and help them out. What is the best course to study before joining the military?depending on what you want to do in the military, math, science, medical and maybe law are the best choices of study, I can't really see how they would use your politics and economics unless you get a desk job...? but advanced math and science majors are a safe bet for something they will look for in specific (techy) jobs. What is the best course to study before joining the military?
I always recommend courses that improve your writing skills. Other classes that I found useful in my military career (Army) were:
Geography
History
A Foriegn Language
Introduction to psycology
Speech and Debate
One thing I found out the hard way is that if you learn calculus - you will wind up helping other soldiers with their homework for your entire career.
.What is the best course to study before joining the military?Political Science is great if you want to go into Intel. The best subject to study depends on what you want to do. Some fields require certain degrees, others it doesn't matter as much. For example, if you wanted to be a supply officer, an economics degree is great. If you want to be a JAG, you would have to go to law school. If you want to be a pilot, I know a pilot with a degree in forestry.....What is the best course to study before joining the military?
The courses you take really have nothing to do with what you do in the military unless you are studying something like Law, Medicine, or Ministry.
