the above story shows just how bad our overpaid politicians are at planning and building military equipment, if this was in China these military areoplanes would have been built 10 years ago. What's the point of building military Aeroplanes when they are outdated by the time we build them?I suppose that's why the F-22 is still the number one 6 years after it hit IOC?
Contractors do have to make money, but yeah, you're right. Why the **** don't we just stop building equipment altogether, I mean it'll all be outdated someday, right?
Come to think of it, why would you ever bother buying a car? In 20 years it'll have been super ceded by stuff that's way better.
Doesn't this question strike you as monumentally stupid? What's the point of building military Aeroplanes when they are outdated by the time we build them?If you had actually read the article (or knew ANYTHING about military hardware) you would not bother asking the question.
PS
If this was China those Nimrod's would still be in the factory 10 years from now, not in service 10 years ago. They are as bad as India. What's the point of building military Aeroplanes when they are outdated by the time we build them? The military-industrial complex has got to make money somehow, don't you just love state/imperialist militarism.
