A friend of mine is starting to study for the citizenship civics test. She has a great grasp of the English language and will fly through the reading, writing and speaking tests. However, she's got no background in U.S. History. I downloaded the study materials and flashcards from the official web site.
I figured some movies might help her, too, if for no other reason than to familiarize her with the main figures in U.S. history.What's your Top 5 movies about American History circa 1770-1900?I don't know many but you can (she can) start with:
"Patriot"
"Glory"
"Revolution"
"The Alamo"
"George Washington" (TV series)
I hope that I helped. Good luck.What's your Top 5 movies about American History circa 1770-1900?The link I gave you has some movies outside the 1770-1900 window, but in addition to the fine choices the first answer provided, these are good...
Dance's with Wolves
Red Badge of Courage
Roots *
Gone with the Wind **
* Begins in 1750...
