It is all just talk. Why do conservatives think that saying the military is largely conservative is relevant?
Liberal soilders are sooner to kill their brothers and sister in arms than the enemy. Look at fort hood. A raging lib went crazy, and look what we got.

Why do conservatives think that saying the military is largely conservative is relevant? With the job thats been done so far I don't see how thats bragging rights anyway.I half agree. You over-generalized with your disliking of Conservatives. Every soldier that I have met in my lifetime (that wasn't drafted) is/was a conservative or a moderate. There isn't too much room for people that want to "talk" in the military. How many actual liberals do you know in the military and how many actual soldiers/military personnel do you know? The highest ranking person I know trains pilots at Luke Air Force Base, goes to my church and................is a conservative. The lowest ranking is a moderate and is waiting to be shipped out. He knows we're at war and he knows that he will most likely go to war.
***I did read your question, twice before I answered. The only mention of "some conservatives" comes from your added details. Aside from that, we can have some agreeance. :)Why do conservatives think that saying the military is largely conservative is relevant?it is relevent when you liberals say stupid things like"if you cons support the war go sign up" most us have served or are serving. Why do conservatives think that saying the military is largely conservative is relevant?
Thank you. Agreed.
Perhaps, because so many libs, like you, so often complain that all cons in Y!A are not in the military. Why do conservatives think that saying the military is largely conservative is relevant?
Thats because liberal soldiers are constantly shooting their mouths off about how CRUEL the conservative soldiers are and constantly complain about how they need to be RESCUED from Iraq.
Actually, I do not see SOME CONSERVATIVES anywhere in the ??
I do not say it, and will not speak as to the motives of others.
Liberal/Conservative, we owe them all so much Thanks!!
active duty soldiers are to remain in rank and a political. That is why the generals come out and give us the truth after they retire.
The only time I heard it brought up is when
Democrats were trying to have soldiers votes disallowed in a transparent attempt to steal elections...
The military is traditionally conservative because conservatives have always had the stance of growing our defense and liberals have shrunk it. Its all politics. Which group increases the spending on the military and which one doesn't.
People in the military vote mostly Republican.
That's why Algore sought to keep their absentee ballots from counting in Florida. Al sought to steal the election, he lost anyway. Now he makes up schit about global warming.
The U.S. lucked out not getting him as President.
They live in some strange alternate reality inaccessible to the rest of humanity. It's called Fox News.
It's simply a matter of character. The sort of selfless, patriotic, teamwork kind of character that is required to be a good soldier is more often found in those who want to protect the country that they love, as opposed to those who enter the service for lesser reasons. The former group is more likely to share the values of conservatives, which usually coincide with the values of the military - a sense of honor, sacrifice, duty, responsibility, respect for the service and integrity that some liberals find lacking in their philosophy of life.
Well, for one, it gets people like you to post this kind of question since it bothers you so bad.
I have only seen that comment posted when answering a liberal who has stated that all conservatives dodge military service.
Actually, about the same percentage of the military as the general population do not vote. The ones that do vote tend to vote Republican simply because Democrats tend to attack the military budget and the military itself.
Carter %26amp; the Dems decimated the military in the 70's which caused the military voter to look to the GOP for help. When Reagan pushed for rebuilding the Armed Forces, the Dems fought it. Under Clinton the base closures, Don't Ask Don't Tell, as well as the witch hunts by Pat Schroeder (D) leading to ADM Kelso's forced retirement and the eventual suicide of ADM Boorda left the military feeling that Democrats were waging a war against them.
The Dems insistence on not counting military absentee votes in the 2000 election and statements by the likes of Kerry %26amp; Murtha that our soldiers are murders and routinely commit atrocities against civilians has done nothing to endear the Democrats to the military.
Now this doesn't necessarily make military voters conservatives but, when the military IS your life and one party is constantly attacking the military which party would you vote for?
I don't know, it really isn't.
